Cody Simpson and his younger sister Alli are incredibly close — he’s even helping her break into the music industry. But that doesn’t mean they don’t occasionally get on each other’s nerves.
In a new interview with Idolator, Alli talks about one of her brother’s best qualities (he’s really funny!), but then goes on to reveal what he does that drives her crazy.
“He sings all the time,” she says. “Like all the time. There’s not one time in the house where he’s not singing. He’ll be coming home from a trip and he’ll be singing, ‘Cody’s home.’ Or we’ll be at dinner or we’ll be at school… He just doesn’t stop singing and that gets really annoying. It’s so true though! Like even on the toilet and stuff. I’m just like shut up! It’s ridiculous!”
Do you think Alli is lucky to be serenaded by Cody 24/7? Watch the rest of her interview below!
THREE and a half years ago, Brad and Angie Simpson made the biggest decision of their young family’s life.
Just months after a hotshot American music producer “discovered” their pre-teen son singing songs on YouTube, the Mermaid Waters couple relocated the entire clan to Los Angeles to allow him to follow his dream.
To say the move paid off would be an understatement.
Cody Simpson is now a musical and marketing phenomenon. The 16-year-old has more than six million followers on Twitter, performs sold-out gigs around the globe and is on first-name terms with the world’s biggest celebrities.
Having spent the past month supporting fellow teen idol Justin Bieber on his Australian tour, Cody and his parents and two siblings will enjoy Christmas on the Coast before resuming their surreal existence in the US.
Before then, however, Gold Coast Bulletin senior writer Dwayne Grant asked them to reflect on the chat they shared mere days before they made the move to the US in mid-2010.

Has your blind date ever talked with a mouth full of food, failed to pick up the check or audaciously opened up the dreaded ex-file? Well, you can at least be grateful he or she never tossed you through a cathedral’s stained glass window. On the next “Ridiculousness,” Rob Dyrdek will be joined by teen heartthrob Cody Simpson, and in the sneak peek of the upcoming episode below, Rob quickly reminds us of Cody’s awkward dating expertise before the guys review a reel of romantic encounters so embarrassing, they make the dreaded spinach-in-teeth ordeal seem like a pretty decent alternative.
In “Awkward Dates,” men and women looking for love find that Cupid’s arrow doesn’t strike so easily, and from overturned motorcycles to sudden fainting-spells aboard amusement park rides, the snippets play out like a Football Follies anthology. Still, you can’t fault the love-hopefuls for trying their best to impress their potential mates, even if they just wind up riding them like a bobsled down a tarp. You’ll see what we mean…
Check out the clip, and tune in to an all new episode, Thursday night at 10/9c!
